Aachen Forum on Gear Production

Digitalization and AI: Driving Innovation in Gear Production?

Digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) are considered the key technologies of the future – but are they really the driving forces behind innovations in gear manufacturing? Or are the decisive advances still coming from traditional disciplines such as materials science, manufacturing technology and process optimisation?

At AFGP 2025, we will examine both perspectives. We will be discussing with leading industrial companies and researchers which innovations are really being driven by digital technologies and where traditional methods continue to make the decisive difference.

  • How are digital tools such as AI, digital twins and data-driven process control changing gear manufacturing?
  • What are the limits of digitalisation – and what challenges still need to be overcome?
  • What innovations are emerging independently of digital technologies, for example through new materials, optimised production processes or alternative drive concepts?
  • What are the views of companies that are confronted with the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation on a daily basis?

We bring together experts from industry and research to present their practical experience, critical assessments and forward-looking solutions. Take the opportunity to exchange ideas with international experts in an open and fact-based discussion.

Register now and play an active role in shaping the future of gear production!
